FAQs

What should I expect for my first time attending therapy?

We will start our very first session together by discussing confidentiality and obtaining verbal/written consent with necessary electronic documents. Then the therapeutic process will begin with talk therapy and other therapeutic techniques. The first session can sometimes feel nerve-wracking, but we will go at your pace to gather as much information about who you are and what you are experiencing. 

Our sessions together are dedicated to you and for you; meaning you'll be able to discuss anything and everything you feel comfortable bringing into the room. There will never be pressure to discuss topics in which you may not feel comfortable yet. Once we have built a therapeutic relationship based on trust and safety, we will collaboratively work together to establish your goals tailored to your needs to overcome your presenting concerns in a timely manner.

Will My Insurance Cover Session Fees?

The answer is most likely yes! We do not do direct billing, so you will need to pay first, and then you will receive an invoice to submit to your insurance company. Our team are registered psychotherapists associated with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and their license numbers will be included on the invoice, along with their supervisors.

Please check with your insurance provider directly prior to our first session to determine your coverage eligibility for services provided by a registered psychologist and/or registered psychotherapist.

What is your cancellation policy?

When you schedule an appointment, we reserve that time slot for you and only you, and you commit to paying for the reservation of time. If you need to cancel an appointment, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice (1 business day), in order to avoid applying the cancellation fee. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged the full rate of the appointment. Our cancellation policy is intended to respect the time and commitment of both client and therapist.
